And the second is "Freight" written and directed by Sturt St. Paul and also featuring Irish Heavyweight Boxing Champion Big Joe Egan. The UK working title for this film is "The Bogfather".
2008 Nov/Dec- A busy time for Mr. Tiernan! Firstly "Survivors" screened in the UK and received a great reception. Then he appeared as a policeman in an episode of "Casualty" shown on Sat 14th Dec on BBC1. He also played a leading role ("Blue") in a short film called "Harvest" for Channel 4's Coming Up series. It was written by Richard Bean. 2008 April - July - AT finished shooting an episode of the remake of the much-feted 1970's drama: "Survivors" in South Yorkshire. Andrew starred as Pacha - one of the two main leads. The play was written by Dorota Maslwoska and directed by Lisa Goldman and also starred Andrea Rise-borough as Dzina. One reviewer described it as: "a deeply dark fairy tale"
2007 July - Dec - Mr. T did a spot of globe-trotting and filmed two productions back-to-back. The first was set in early Roman times and shot in Tunisia. It was an excellent dramatized documentary made by the BBC called: "Spartacus" - part of their "Heroes And Villians" series. He played a major role in it, that of the Gladiator Cruxus. The second project was set in 1942 and filmed in Lithuania; a war/horror/thriller film called "Stone's War" with Our Mr. T in the title role of the American officer Captain Martin Stone. The film has yet to be given a general release date. 2007 March 9th - "300" OPENED ACROSS THE US TO SELL-OUT HOUSES! According to the New York Daily paper it raked in $70 million within it's first four days of release - exceeding it's own budget cost of $60 million - and was "the biggest March opening ever" for an R-rated film!! This places it as a landmark in cinematic history. The film is awe-inspiring; one reviewer described it as "operatic film-making". A LEG!!" on the night as

awesome film which is such a
milestone in his career. The reviews of his performance were glowing.

Although Mr. Tiernan found the long days spent in the full-body prosthetics needed for his role as Ephialtes a bit uncomfortable (...think about it...) he has this to say about the film: "300 is all done and dusted now...it looks amazing, like a Caravaggio painting, a living embodiment of the graphic novel!" 2006 January - Life On Mars screened in the UK. This intriguing series differs from the usual police drama because it lands the lead character - modern-day cop DI Sam Tyler (John Simm) - mysteriously back in time in the 1970's. Andy played bad guy Kim Trent to excellent reviews. This series is ground-breaking television drama. 2005 December - Andrew completed filming "The Man Who Sold The World" directed by Louis Melville. He played an "evil priest" named Reverend Carmichael. 2005 November - The BBC 4 production of "Waste of Shame " aired in the UK. This episode was directed by Antonia Bird. The storyline focused on the uncannily topical subject at the time of bombings on the London Underground. There was some controversy as to whether the program should be shown so close to the actual occurrence of these events in real life but they were finally screened in the UK on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th September. 2005 August/September - Andy flew to LA to be fitted for prosthetics for his role as "Ephialtes" in the film "300" written by Frank Miller. This big budget Warner Bros. production was shot in Vancouver.
